A criminal investigation into a horror crash following which a 16-year-old boy from Tameside died is ongoing, an inquest opening has been told.
McKenna Leigh, 16, died following a motorbike crash in Audenshaw last month. He was rushed to Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) following the collision but could not be saved.
The Manchester Evening News previously reported that the Honda motorbike he was riding collided with a Vauxhall Vivaro van on Denton Road on Saturday, September 17.
Today (Friday) an inquest into his death was formally opened at South Manchester Coroner's Court in Stockport. McKenna lived in Denton and was an apprentice joiner, the hearing was told.
