A decision on vaccinating children aged five to 11 could be reached in the next 10 days, according to the head of the UK's vaccine advisory group.
Professor Wei Shen Lim, the chair for immunisation on the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), said he expects a decision before Christmas, reports The Mirror.
Prof Lim told MPs that JCVI was still waiting to hear from the UK's medical regulators on whether they approve the Covid vaccine for younger children.
The decision will follow other countries' approval to give Covid jags to children. The US approved Pfizer jabs for kids aged five to 11 on November 3 with Reuters reporting that five million have received their first dose so far according to federal data.
