Coronavirus infection rates have fallen across all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, data has revealed. Rates across the region are lower than the national average, as infections have dropped by nearly 30 per cent in the last week.
Stockport continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester, with a rate of 739.6 cases per 100,000 people as of week ending February 3.
The lowest infection rate is in Oldham, where the rate is 490.3 cases per 100,000 people. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 594.5 cases per 100,000 population. A total of 16,858 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on February 3. The Greater Manchester weekly total has decreased by 6562 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was down 28 per cent in the last week.. Hospital admissions In the week ending on January 30, a total of 595 patients were admitted to Greater Manchester NHS hospitals with Covid-19.
