Coronation Street's Alex Bain makes telling comment about soap future after quit claims as he speaks out on co-star exit

Coronation Street star Alex Bain has shared a telling comment about his soap future after reports emerged that he's set to follow his on-screen dad and leave the cobbles.

The actor is known for playing Simon Barlow in the ITV soap, the son of Peter and the later Lucy Barlow. Alex first appeared on the cobbles as Simon aged seven and over the years he has been involved in some big storylines, including drug dealing, and his mother Lucy's death.

And in upcoming episodes, Simon and Sam Blakeman, played by Jude Riordan, are reportedly set to be involved in a car crash after they were seen filming the dramatic scenes before Christmas.

However, it was reported over Christmas that Alex was set to leave the role after 15 years. This hasn't been confirmed by Corrie or Alex himself and the 22-year-old currently seems very happy on the cobbles.
