Homegrown gritty gangland crime drama Kin is a ratings winner for RTÉ One, pulling in more viewers than the long-running Late Late Show.
The series, which follows the Kinsellas, a fictional Dublin family caught in a gangland war, is now topping Ryan Tubridy’s Late Late Show and has an average audience share of 46% or 650,000 viewers per episode.
However, the series, which stars some of Ireland’s premier acting talent such as Aiden Gillen, Ciaran Hinds and Maria Doyle Kennedy, has been criticised for glorifying the gruesome reality of a life of crime.
