Christopher T. Young Joins Weather Channel as CFO
variety.comWilliam Earl Entravision Communications alumnus Christopher T. Young has joined The Weather Channel as chief financial officer.
He will also serve as executive VP of the cabler’s parent company, Allen Media Group. Young will be based at Weather Channel’s Atlanta and in Los Angeles where Allen Media Group is based.
He reports to CEO Byron Allen and Christopher Malone, who is CFO and executive VP of Allen Media Group. “Chris brings extensive finance and operational experience in the media industry spanning over three decades.
His strong expertise and tenured capital markets background are valuable assets,” said Allen, who is founder and chairman of Allen Media Group. “Chris adds great depth to our executive leadership team, and he will be instrumental to our business as we continue to grow rapidly and execute on a number of long-term strategic initiatives.” Young spent the past 16 years as CFO for Spanish-language media firm Entravision.
