The cost of living crisis is continuing to force people to budget their grocery shopping. A simple way supermarkets have offered savings on the rising costs is through loyalty and point cards to help shave off the cost of selected items.
However, new research from consumer champion Which? has revealed that you may not be saving as much as you think with your loyalty card.
The organisation compared the prices of the 65 most popular items grabbed during a grocery shop. All the final prices factored in the use of loyalty cards such as Tesco's Clubcard and Sainsbury's Nectar points.
Overall, it found that Aldi was the cheapest supermarket with an average total cost of £118.41. This was followed closely behind by Lidl with an average cost of £121.31.
