Cathkin pupil awarded for logo representing Rutherglen's 900th year as Royal Burgh

A Cathkin Primary School pupil who won a competition to design a logo that will celebrate Rutherglen's 900th anniversary as Royal Burgh has been presented with her prize.To celebrate Rutherglen's status as arguably Scotland's oldest Royal Burgh in 2026, planning has begun to mark the momentous occasion.The Rutherglen 900 Committee, chaired by Councillor Robert Brown, has been set up to develop, co-ordinate and take forward ideas and opinions from local residents and organisations as to what residents would like to see in the celebrations.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
