Celtic centre-back Carl Starfelt has been backed to become a Parkhead success after a stop-start beginning to his Hoops career.

The Swedish defender arrived at Celtic during the summer from Russian club Rubin Kazan on a four-year contract and for around £4 million.

But in his 15 appearances for Ange Postecoglou's side since the transfer, he has struggled to find consistency and form. American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers was also brought in as a centre-back option during the summer but another new option will be Christopher Jullien, who is on the comeback trail after a knee injury right at the end of last year.
