The thoughts of everyone at Cambuslang Rangers are with former goalkeeping coach Andy Goram this week after it was announced he is battling cancer. The 58-year-old Glasgow Rangers legend helped Camby win their league title this season, but left the club earlier this month.

After his shock cancer diagnosis, ‘The Goalie’ is now undergoing treatment. And the legendary figure was very much in the club's thoughts as they claimed a 3-2 victory over Wishaw in the West fo Scotland Cup second round at the weekend. After their win, Camby co-boss Billy Campbell said: “I was up at the hospital and saw him at the weekend, and last week as well."I’d rather not say any more, but our thoughts are with Andy and his family at this time.”Meanwhile, Campbell was pleased to be through to the quarter-finals, but felt his side were inconsistent having not played for a fortnight since they were presented the Conference B title.Jack McLarty opened the scoring, and Gary Giffin hit a double, before Wishaw grabbed two goals back. They now host Conference A side Craigmark Burntonians on Saturday, and Campbell hopes they can negotiate their way to the semi-finals.Campbell said: “We looked as if we hadn’t played for a couple of weeks, to be honest.“We played decent in spells and not so decent in other spells, so it wasn’t an overly consistent performance at all, and we had a wee chat about that after the game with the guys.“I’m obviously pleased that we won, and we made some changes to give three of the young lads a wee kick of the ball, which probably impacted on it and unsettled everyone.“It wasn’t our best, but credit to the guys – we still came away with the win and move on to the next round.“I’m pleased overall.
