A pedestrian has been struck by a car on a busy road in Airdrie town centre this afternoon. Emergency services are in attendance - with an eyewitness telling Lanarkshire Live two police cars and an ambulance are at the scene - following the incident, which took place at 1.45pm on Graham Street, near Airdrie Sheriff Court.

The A89 by Morrisons is currently closed, as police officers attend the scene and their enquiries get underway.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
