Kate and William will not be making any changes to new Windsor home - here's why
ok.co.ukPrince William and Kate Middleton confirmed that they are moving to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor in a statement by Kensington Palace .The family will use the pretty 19th century Adelaide Cottage as their base after the Queen gave them permission to lease the four-bedroom Grade II listed cottage, which belongs to the Crown Estate.
The move comes with plenty of big changes and for the first time Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be attending the same school together.
However, there are limitations on what the three young royals can do to their new home to make it their own. Adelaide Cottage is Grade II listed meaning that there are strict rules on what can and cannot be done when decorating and renovating the home.
According to property conversation experts there are certain things you can do: “As a general rule, you are able to maintain your property using like for like materials and traditional methods without prior consent – for example, careful repairs to a sash window or replacing modern appliances in a kitchen.” However certain elements would “need special consent to remove, alter or repair”.
