Boy, 17, arrested after string of knifepoint robberies in park

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a string of knifepoint robberies in a park in Bolton. Five separate robberies were reported to police in or near Heywood Park, officers said.

Most of them happened in broad daylight, while one was at around 10pm last week. The attacker held the victims at knifepoint in the incidents, with the latest victim suffering minor injuries.

Patrols were stepped up in the area and a teenager was arrested yesterday (Monday). It comes after Bolton Police received reports of five robberies taking place in or near Heywood Park. "The majority having taken place in broad daylight and one at around 10pm last week.
