Shortly after, he underwent open heart surgery. One day after the surgery, he underwent a second procedure to repair a coronary artery.
Ten days after that second surgery, the "Twister" star suffered a fatal stroke.Bill's family initially filed a wrongful death and negligence lawsuit against the surgeon and Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where the procedures were performed.
