An army of big hearted Scots islanders have turned their bed sheets into medical scrubs for local NHS staff battling coronavirus.
Doctors and nurses in Shetland are wearing designs with elephants and cartoon characters while fighting the virus on the frontline.
The local community were called to take to their sewing machines at the end of last month.More than 100 residents have now rallied round and made more than 500 tops, trousers and other uniforms for hospital staff out of old bedsheets and other materials around the house.NHS worker Lisa Gray, who is involved with the project, said: "Originally it came about from the laundry staff who were working seven days a week trying to get through all the clothes other staff had to wear."Becaus
