While the judges had nothing but good things to say and the pair scored 35 points, it was Vito's message to Ellie at the end of their routine which may have caught viewers' attention.The pair danced the Rumba to True Colours by Cyndi Lauper and Ellie looked incredible in a short pink and purple dress while Vito performed with his shirt open.
As they came to the end of the intense routine, the professional pulled in the actress and hugged her before kissing her on the cheek.
He then leant in close and whispered: "I'm so proud of you, I'm so so proud." The pair made their way over to host Tess Daly who was full of praise: "Gorgeous.
So beautiful. Not easy that Rumba. Not many people can make the Rumba look that good." Speaking to Claudia Winkleman, Vito explained they chose not to go for a "classical Rumba" as he wanted to show how Ellie had grown in confidence. "She was building her self-confidence, the journey we are having," he explained. "She was stronger and stronger and I am so, so proud of her." It comes after Ellie opened up about kissing Vito and insisted it was just a sign of their friendship.
