Strictly Come Dancing contestants enjoyed a spooky weekend on the iconic dancefloor as the hair and make-up teams pulled out all the stops to transform the couples as they hit the halfway mark of the competition.

It was also the first time BBC viewers saw professional dancer Giovanni Pernice make a solo appearance on the show without his partner Amanda Abbington after she confirmed last week her shock exit from the competition citing "personal reasons." However, her exit from the dancing competition was rumoured to involve a behind-the-scenes 'feud' with Giovanni which reached boiling point over his alleged "strict" teaching in rehearsals which pushed the actress to feeling miserable.Giovanni was spotted in the background as host Claudia Winkleman chatted to the other contestants and their professional partners, as a body language has claimed the Italian dancer showed signs he didn't want to be there despite it being Halloween week.Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Judi said: "Halloween is traditionally Giovanni’s biggest week on Strictly, but this time it was more like a personal and professional nightmare. "Instead of thrilling fans with one of his sensual, spooky routines he was relegated to the back row on the balcony thanks to his partner Amanda pulling out of the competition and his body language suggested a desire to not be there at all. "The professional dancers usually try to get in shot when they’re standing around the current couple after their dance and when they are in shot they keep their eyes on the couple and respond to their reactions.
