BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Janette Manrara admits ex-partner's injury scandal 'was hard'
manchestereveningnews.co.ukStrictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has spoken out about her former partner Will Bayley's 'life-changing' injuries on the show, saying "it was hard".
The Paralympic table tennis star said he was left in “horrific pain” after practising a jump in rehearsals while competing in the 2019 series.
Discussing the jump, Bayley told the BBC: “I said, ‘I’m not sure I can land safely’, but everyone assured me I would be fine.” The athlete, who was born with rthrogryposis which affects all four of his limbs, claims Manrara made him redo the jump because an earlier attempt was “rubbish”.
It was then he says he sustained the injury.
