BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans have vowed to boycott the 2023 series after it was announced that Amanda Abbington would be taking part.
The Sherlock star, who was previously in a relationship and has two kids with fellow actor Martin Freeman, is now dating a former Britain's Got Talent contestant.
And it was revealed on Friday's instalment of The One Show that she would be competing against a host of other celebs to battle it out on the dancefloor in the hopes of winning the Glitterball trophy.
The BBC Press Office tweeted: "The game is on! Award-winning stage and screen actor Amanda Abbington is the first celebrity confirmed for #Strictly Come Dancing 2023 and "can't wait to start". "Is she ready for a study in sparkles?"However, Yorkshire Live reports that some fans were less than happy about this announcement, and even vowed to boycott the 2023 series. @mettycalfe said: "Definitely giving it a miss then"@riverstour said: "There’s as much chance of me watching this year, as there is of me not buying coffee from Costa"@ellarhapse said: "we won’t be watching"@tomtomchap said: "I’m alright thanks, pal"But others were quick to show their support for Amanda and wished her luck. @colletteWalsh said: "Fabulous !!!
