Strictly Come Dancing 2023: EastEnders' Nigel Harman joins star-studded BBC lineup

Strictly Come Dancing's 13th contestant has been revealed as former EastEnders star Nigel Harman. The news was announced on Thursday morning non ITV's Lorraine show by Christine Lampard.

It comes as EastEnders newcomer Bobby Brazier was announced as the twelfth contestant to take part on the BBC dancing show on Wednesday, with some fans already tipping the young actor to be the 'winner' of this year's series.Nigel said during his appearance on Lorraine that he's not hopeful about his abilities on the dance floor.

He said: "In my mind I think I am a better dancer than my body is telling me, we done a taster session and I done the cha cha cha and it was unlike anything I seen before - not in a good way."Adam Thomas, Eddie Kadi, Amanda Abbington, Layton Williams, broadcaster Angela Rippon and journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy have also been announced, along with Angela Scanlon, Zara McDermott, Nikita Kanda, Ellie Leachand Jody Cundy.Actress Amanda Rippon will make history as the oldest contestant to appear on the show, turning 79 before filming starts.

The 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing will be judged by Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.
