Tributes have poured in after legendary radio DJ Steve Wright died suddenly at age 69. On Tuesday, a statement shared to the BBC by Wright’s family announced the death of the 'beloved' presenter.
Describing him as 'one of the UK’s most enduring and popular radio personalities', the family said they announced the news 'with profound sorrow and deep regret'.
Wright joined the BBC in the 1970s, going on to host shows on BBC Radio 1 and 2 for more than four decades which attracted millions of listeners, and was a long-standing presenter of Top Of The Pops.
