Bargain Hunt's Roo Irvine found herself in the awkward position of having to apologise after a daring punt didn't pay off during the auction segment.

In Tuesday's instalment, hosted by Natasha Raskin Sharp, audiences were swept off to Scotland where the teams had the challenge of turning £300 into profit at auction.Team Red, comprising Iain and Jessica, partnered with antiques expert Roo Irvine and made some eclectic choices: a brass turtle for £10, an 18-carat gold and diamond ring at £110, and a duo of vibrant vases for £45.

Post-purchase, Jessica felt confident, remarking, "We've got some good buys I think."Natasha queried, "So you are happy overall?" to which Jessica looked to Iain and affirmed, "Yes I would say so," despite Iain expressing his reservations with, "I'm on the fence but we will see what happens," reports the Express.Anticipation built as Natasha declared, "Well whether you like it or not they are going under the hammer so now it's time to choose a favourite." Jessica favoured the vase though she doubted its profitability, placing her bets on Irvine's find: "Well for me it's probably the vase but I don't think that will bring in the most profit.

I think Roo's find will be the one to bring in the profit."Iain echoed this sentiment, adding, "Yes so definitely the ring." Despite their intriguing purchases, Team Red faced difficulties turning a profit; however, Roo Irvine remained optimistic, banking on her bonus buy to tip the balance. Her chosen item, a £67 diamond ring, was anticipated to fetch between £80 to £120; yet, contrary to expectations, the result was less than ideal.
