Ayrshire mental health charity create ultimate pick-me-up with 'Smile Bag' project

Ayrshire mental health charity has been putting smiles on faces by the bag load.Minds Over Matter have pieced together ‘Smile Bags’ with toys, treats and mental health resources as a free pick-me-up for those in need.The project is four times bigger than last time as Minds Over Matter – who usually host mental health drop-in nights – has received 400 bag requests.Founder Caitlyn Nutt, who is open about her personal struggles with her own mental health, said: “In the first lockdown we decided to try do the smile bags because we were shut for our drop ins because of restrictions.“We did about 105 bags the last time.

I put them together in my living room because we didn’t have anywhere to store anything.“We’ve had about 400 requests this time..
