Ayrshire beauty spot becomes eyesore as litterbugs strike hours after lockdown easing

Thoughtless litterbugs trashed Eglinton Country Park shortly after lockdown restrictions were eased.The beauty spot was strewn with rubbish - only one day after the Scottish government eased lockdown.Accident emergency ambulance technician William McKight, who lives nearby the historical grounds, discovered the unsightly mess during a walk.

He said: “I’ve been using the park for my daily exercise and I noticed, over the weeks, how clean it had become as no one was going to the park.“This picture was taken the day after the Scottish Government said we could mix again with up to ten people.“It’s horrific and really disappointing to see.“It doesn’t give me much confidence people are following hygiene rules and socially distancing if they are.
