Arrest made after Scots street 'attack' with man seriously injured in hospital

Police investigating an alleged assault which left a man in hospital with serious head injuries have made an arrest. A 33-year-old male has been charged in connection with the incident that took place on a path between West Marketgait and Yeaman Shore in Dundee.

A man was found badly hurt by a member of the public at around 8pm on Thursday June 2, with the Scottish Ambulance Service called to the scene.

The 45-year-old was rushed to Ninewells Hospital for medical treatment with doctors describing his condition as ‘stable’. Officers previously appealed for a witness who is understood to have witnessed the incident to come forward.Police Scotland confirmed the suspect has now been charged and is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday June 6.A statement from the force said: “A 33-year-old man has been charged after a man was found injured on a path between West Marketgait and Yeaman Shore, Dundee, around 8pm on Thursday, 2 June.“He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 June, 2022.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
