Ange Postecoglou has warned Tottenham fans not to expect the club to spend £100million on a single player - even if their EPL rivals are splashing out big fees.Spurs are in the hunt for Champions League football and face a huge clash with fourth-placed Aston Villa this weekend as the English Premier League heads into the business end.
The former Celtic boss has however played down any expectations over massive transfer fees after the likes of Arsenal bought Declan Rice for £105m with Chelsea putting out big money on Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in recent times. The most the North London outfit has paid for a player is £54m for Tanguy Ndombele in 2019, but he hasn't been a success and might be sold for just £12m.
Postecoglou explained: "I don't think we are in a position to spend £100m on a player, if that is what you are suggesting. That is not the case and I don't think it will ever be the case for the club.
Our competitors are, irrespective of the positions., reports the Mirror.“I have always felt with those things it is not what you spend, it is how you spend it.
