Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s Cinderella musical is being put on pause. The 73-year-old composer announced on Monday (July 19) that he had decided not to open the show one day before it was set to premiere after a member of the cast tested positive for COVID-19. Click inside to read his statement… “Today, on this ‘Freedom Day’, I have been forced to take the heart-breaking decision not to open my Cinderella,” he wrote in a statement shared to Twitter. “At Cinderella, from the outset, we have employed a rigorous testing system for all the cast and backstage crew before they begin work,” he continued. “On Saturday, as part of this process, we identified one positive case in a member of our cast who has a cameo role in the show.
