Naman Ramachandran All3Media International‘s thriller “Boat Story,” originally commissioned by BBC One and Amazon Freevee, is heading to India.

Mumbai-based Locomotive Global Media has acquired the exclusive rights to adapt the series for the Indian market. The 6×60′ thriller, which debuted in 2023, was written by Harry and Jack Williams and produced by Two Brothers Pictures in association with All3Media International.

Mayank Sharma, known for creating Prime Video India’s “Breathe,” will spearhead the Indian adaptation as showrunner and director, with Locomotive Global Media producing. “Boat Story” follows two cash-strapped strangers who discover a cocaine stash on a shipwrecked boat.

Their plan to sell it and divide the profits leads them into a web of intrigue involving law enforcement, masked assassins, and a dapper gangster known as ‘The Tailor.’ This acquisition marks Locomotive Global Media’s continued focus on bringing international formats to Indian viewers, following their adaptation of “Ray Donovan” for Netflix India.
