'African plume' to bring 23C Indian summer to UK for Halloween

The UK is in for a warm few weeks leading up to the Halloween period with an ‘African plume’ bringing hot air north over Europe.Temperatures as warm as 23C are predicted in some areas with an Indian Summer possible and this could lead to 2022 becoming officially the hottest year on record.

Monday is forecasted to be the beginning of the warm run, which will last for up to six days heading towards a hot Halloween, reports the Mirror.The week is set to see warm climes, with Wednesday predicted to be the hottest day that could see temperatures peak at around 22C.

The South of the country is expected to be warmer than the North and alongside the hot temperatures, there will be sunny spells - along with some showers.

Meteorologists have predicted that the mild conditions will last up to Halloween on October 31.The plume of warm air from Africa will set 2022 as the hottest year on record for Britain, with January to September the hottest first nine months of the year since 1884, the year the Met Office records began.
