The goalkeeper has already taken part in his first training session after jetting to the US on Friday, less than 24 hours after his unveiling.
It’s not clear whether he will play a part in Saturday’s friendly against Arsenal in New Jersey. The 27-year-old arrives on a £47.7m deal, taking United’s spending to around £102m this summer.
After meeting fellow fresh recruit Mason Mount and the rest of the United squad, Onana has unpacked his feelings upon signing. “It’s a real privilege to be part of this big club,” he told club media, being also keen to underline the importance of unity within the squad. “We have to be United.
