Dave Cormack expects the new Scottish Premiership to kick-off in August or September at the latest. The Aberdeen chief was part of the SPFL ’s top-flight conference call meeting where club chiefs were briefed by medical experts on the COVID-19 outbreak.
SPFL officials are currently trying to come up with a solution for the existing campaign, with a vote scheduled for Friday, but Cormack is confident the pandemic will start to clear and the 2020-21 campaign will kick off without being knocked too far out of sync.
Cormack said: “I have just finished an SPFL meeting and there will be a season, whether that starts August or beginning of September there will be a new season.” League chiefs want the clubs from the bottom three tiers to vote on
