The Scottish Premiership insurance issue that could derail any plan to restart the season

Former Liverpool and Tottenham director of football Damien Comolli has warned that insurance issues could end any hopes of restarting the football season.

Last week an SPFL resolution to end the lower leagues early was passed, with the tables as they stand declared final. The motion gave the governing body the power to make the same call for the Premiership at a later date, which would see Celtic crowned champions and Hearts relegated.

Some, including Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack, have stated that the SPFL should wait to see if the top flight can be finished over the summer.

FIFA has confirmed contracts ending on June 30 will be extended for a short period but Comolli believes there will be a stumbling block if players fall ill.Comoll
