Elizabeth Gabler's3000 Pictures is getting its summer reading in order. The Sony-housed label hasoptioned the rights to Summer of ’69 byNew York Timesbestselling authorElin Hilderbrand for a limited series.
Summer of '69 is set in Nantucket during the tumultuous summer of 1969, and follows the lives of multiple generations of the Levin family, as their lives intersect with the historical events of the time, including the Vietnam War and the space race.
Gabler, Erin Siminoff andNikki Cooper are overseeing the project for 3000 Pictures. The famed "breach reads"author,repped byUTA, Inkwell Management, and Kleinberg Lange, has been on a Hollywood hot streak as of late, placing several stories for adaption across film and series.
