An electronic bracelet can be used to pick up possible Covid - days before the symptoms become apparent, a study has found.
A team of experts looked at the benefits of an AVA bracelet, which is a fertility device that pinpoints the best time for people to conceive.The tracker monitors changes to skin temperature, heart rate and breathing rate.
A new study, published in the journal BMJ Open, found that this could be combined with artificial intelligence to provide a diagnosis for Covid. Users had to wear the device at night and sleep for at least four hours for it to work. The bracelets were synchronised with a smartphone app, with people recording any activities that could affect the results, such as alcohol, prescription medications and recreational drugs.
