A woman found 'lying on the pavement' in Salford was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run. Emergency services rushed to the scene after the victim was found 'covered in blood' on Graythorpe Walk on Monday afternoon.

A large cordon was put in place for several hours. Police have now confirmed that a woman - aged in her 20s - was hit by a car.

An investigation is underway and witnesses are being urged to get in touch with officers. One resident, who was carrying out DIY nearby, reported hearing a 'thud' and went to see what had happened.
