A Wishaw woman has completely transformed her life by losing a whopping five and a half stone. Cathie Boyd has been described as inspirational by her local Slimming World group after hitting her target weight.Since losing the weight, Cathie says her confidence is so much better and also has managed to stop daily medications for her health conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and is now finding her blood pressure is reading as normal.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Cathie told Lanarkshire Live: “I feel great, and even when life gets in the way I kept going. I think going to the Slimming World classes and having a supportive consultant really helped me and I feel so much healthier and fitter. “I’m enjoying different types of physical activities now.

It’s a change of lifestyle for me, eating healthy meals and moving more.“Since joining I have made lots of new friends that I see every week and you can see how they are cooking and losing weight so I think it’s really inspiring when you do it as a group.“I was 71 last August – 70 when I joined so I thought I wanted to feeling better than I did in my 60’s which I do.
