A Labour Party councillor who refused to vote in favour of North Lanarkshire Council’s budget says she would have been failing the electorate if she backed it.Councillor Angela Feeney took to social media following last Monday’s vote to say “enough is enough”.Councillor Feeney, who describes herself as a life-long socialist and trade unionist, says the budget is a “vicious attack on the most marginalised and needy” and that council services are being striped down to the “bare bones”.In a post on Twitter following the vote on Monday, she said: “Today, with a heavy heart I could not vote for any #BUDGET that will see £31 million of cuts being taken from our communities.“It is time we offered real #RESISTANCE and say enough is enough.”Speaking
