Matt Groening’s classic animated comedy about a pizza delivery guy being sent a thousand years into the future is returning to TV screens for the third time.

Futurama - The Simpson's creator's sci-fi cartoon series - has had a rocky past. While it is a fan favourite the show has been cancelled multiple times but Disney is once again bringing the show back.

While most of the original cast will be returning to the cult show, John DiMaggio (who voiced Bender, the beer-drinking, cigar-smoking, foul-mouthed robot) has not yet been scheduled to make a reappearance and will instead be recast. Original writers and developers Matt Groening and David X. Cohen will be returning to the production, which first aired back in 1999.
