However from Wednesday October 6 the payments are being cut to pre-Covid levels - which will affect around 6 million people in England, Scotland and Wales.

Of those 6 million people, 60 per cent are unemployed while 40 per cent are working low-paid jobs. Read more: Ending of Universal Credit an 'unforgivable hammer blow', say Manchester council Overall, these people could be losing out on £1,040 a year.
