What Is a Leshen? 'The Witcher' Season 2's Tree Monster Explained!

The official trailer for season two of The Witcher dropped earlier today and it gave fans a first look at all of the monsters Geralt (Henry Cavill) will take on in the new season.

While fans are likely familiar with the gargoyles and vampires that appear in the video, it also featured a less recognizable foe – the Leshen, a monster popularized by CD Projekt Red’s video game trilogy. Click inside to find out more about the monster… According to Screen Rant, the Leshen is a “highly intelligent forest spirit that devours humans whole.” In the trailer, the monster is seen controlling the roots of the forest, sending them towards Ciri as Geralt tries to cut them away.
