Wayne Rooney has called on Manchester United fans to be patient while Erik ten Hag undertakes a “massive job” to mould the club back into a title-challenging side.
The Derby County boss also said it may take three years before United supporters see their team start to fight for the Premier League crown once again.
Ten Hag was officially announced as the club’s next permanent manager ahead of the summer on Thursday. The 52-year-old has signed a three-year deal with an option for a further 12 months.
