A Perthshire councillor has echoed concerns that £150 million promised to the region by the UK Government to boost the local economy will have little effect if payments are split over a period of 15 years.Strathtay councillor Grant Laing, who has just been appointed to a board set up to administer the proposed Tay Cities Deal, fears the cash will not do much good if the UK Government does not match a commitment made by the Scottish Government to pay the same sum to councils in Tayside over 10 years.It comes after Dundee City Council leader John Alexander wrote to the former chancellor Sajid Javid at the end of January saying it would be “ridiculous” to expect all the projects requiring tens of millions of pounds through the deal to progress
