It means that injuries to the feet will not heal well and people may not even notice their foot is sore or injured. They recommend that people with type 2 diabetes keep the feet clean and dry to avoid infection.
The NHS also suggest not going barefoot outside to avoid getting any cuts as well as recommending people to wear shoes that fit well.
