Tributes paid to Brookside and Corrie star James Caroll

Former Coronation Street star James Caroll has died. James was best known for his role as Brian 'Bumper' Humphreys on the now-axed Channel 4 soap Brookside between 1988 and 1991.

Most recently, James appeared on screen as Mary Taylor's friend Colin on Corrie. No cause of death has yet been confirmed but it is believed the late actor died suddenly.

In 2020, reports emerged that James had been battling pneumonia, however, he made a full recovery. He also shared a documentary about his health condition, which featured his wife Justine and their children. In the wake of his death, one of James' bandmates paid tribute to the late star on the band's Facebook page.
