Ruben Ostlund is paying tribute to Charlbi Dean after her sudden death. On Wednesday (August 31), the Swedish director took to Instagram to remember the late actress, who passed away at the age of 32 on Monday after an “unexpected sudden illness.” The pair had previously worked together on Ruben‘s Palme d’Or winning film Triangle of Sadness. Click inside to find out what he said… “It is an honor to have gotten to know and work with her. Charlbi had a care and sensitivity that lifted her colleagues and the entire film crew,” he wrote alongside a photo of Charlbi on set. “The thought that she will not be by our side in the future makes me very sad,” Ruden continued. “At this difficult time, my thoughts go out to her loved ones, her family and her fiance Luke.” Triangle of Sadness won the coveted top prize at Cannes back in May and is set to begin its theatrical roll-out, with the film making its North American premiere at Toronto.
It will then play at the New York Film Festival and be released in the U.S. on Oct. 8. Our continued thoughts are with Charlbi‘s loved ones during this difficult time. RIP.
