Claire Foy is speaking out for the first time after the death of Queen Elizabeth. The 38-year-old actress portrayed a young version of the late monarch in the first two seasons of Netflix’s The Crown.
For her portrayal of the Queen, Claire won two Emmy awards, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award. While promoting her new movie Women Talking at TIFF, Claire opened up about the “honor” of playing the Queen. Click inside to read more… “I think that she was an incredible monarch,” Claire shared with BBC. “She united people and she was a massive symbol of continuity and dignity and grace.” Claire continued, “My main feeling is just thinking about her as a mother and a grandmother and a great-grandmother, really, and I’m very honored to have been a teeny tiny, small part of her story.” Claire‘s comments on Queen Elizabeth‘s passing comes shortly after Olivia Colman – who played the Queen in seasons three and four of The Crown – also spoke out remembering the Queen. Claire and Olivia are just two of the many stars that have portrayed Queen Elizabeth on-screen over the years.
