A drug-driver who was 'a little too excited to get his KFC' lost control of his car and smashed into the front of a shop. The Ford Mondeo collided with the building on Pickup Street in Ince-in-Makerfield, Wigan, on Thursday evening (May 14).

The driver and two passengers tried to flee the scene, police said. But officers caught up with them and they were detained.

The driver failed a drug test. He was also found to have no driving licence and no insurance. In a tweet, the traffic unit at Greater Manchester Police said the driver was a 'little too excited to get his KFC' when he lost control of the car.
