Three people who allegedly targeted Nick Grimshaw’s rented Ibiza villa arrested
ok.co.ukSpanish authorities have arrested a trio of alleged burglars believed to be behind a spree of luxury villa heists in Ibiza, including one rented by celebrity DJ Nick Grimshaw.The Guardia Civil arrested two men and a woman for more than 22 robberies at residential properties on the island, with stolen goods totalling more than half a million euros.The authorities said the thieves would enter the properties when the occupants were asleep, and always wore face coverings and black gloves to avoid leaving traces that might lead to them being caught.They also said some victims reported feeling drowsy the following day, which indicated the thieves might have used some sort of gas to cause sleepiness.
One of the targets was allegedly the holiday villa rented by podcaster and BBC star Nick, who was staying on the island with his mum Eileen and his fiancé Meshach Henry, during a special 40th birthday celebration last month.The thieves reportedly hit while the group was asleep, and according to reports, were targeted due to the home being known for "being used by high net worth clients".
A source told The Sun: "The gang would have had no idea who he was. Sadly, it’s a case of the wrong place at the wrong time but it’s scary to say the least.
Nick was obviously upset but thought best to keep things off social media." According to the PA news agency, nobody was hurt during the break-in at Nick's holiday home.
