Three people stabbed in London after 'attempting to stop bike thieves'

Three people have been stabbed this morning in Central London while reportedly trying to stop bike thieves. The victims, who were attacked in Bishopsgate, have all been taken to hospital and another person who was pushed to the ground has been assessed and discharged at the scene, the Mirror reports.

Met officers and paramedics are currently in attendance at the scene close to Liverpool Street Station which is said to have taken place just a few yards shy of a police station.

Eye witnesses have taken to social media to share their account of the incident and unconfirmed online reports suggest that the stabbings occurred when by passers attempted to stop thieves from stealing bicycles.

The City of London Police have tweeted that they are aware of the incident and are dealing with the situation. "We received reports of three stabbings & a person pushed to the floor on Bishopsgate at 9.46am & officers arrived at the scene at 9.51am," a tweet read. "Three victims were taken by LAS to a nearby hospital to be treated.
