THIS Morning viewers bombarded Ofcom with complaints about a candle-making segment. Furious fans accused the show of being a "fire hazard" as guest Georgina Burnett suggested it was way to keep kids busy during half term.

The programme - hosted by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary - aired on February 16 and received 62 complaints. Georgina suggested up-cycling household items like old jam jars, wine glasses or bricks to transform the candles in an eco-friendly way.

Viewers were told to heat the wax in water or in the microwave to 70 or 80 degrees celsius - with the option to add dye and scents. "I can't believe how easy that is," Alison said.

But Dermot obviously spotted the safety risk, saying: "Probably best to do with older kids, isn't it?" Georgina replied: "I think, the older kids when the heat is involved. "I had my 6 year old helping me with all this and obviously I keep her away from the heat, just let her choose the scents which she loved doing.
